Is it limited to solving to criminal cases ?
Absolutely not. Because it is a science ! As with any science, it is Factual ! It ain't a philosopher's views or an artist's poetry. Its a science. Its a strong foundation. And anything can be built on a strong foundation.
It is a science holding so much potential that if one learns to utilize it in an efficient manner, one can decipher the road to eternal success. I say eternal coz in today's world success had become momentary. People achieve few goals through hard work, co-incidence, someone else's efforts or with brains sometimes but it never lasts and someone else is there to take their place. But if you know the way to success, u will know how u reached there and if u know EXACTLY how every penultimate particle synchronized to make u reach there, u can do it again ! and again ! and again.....as long as You don't get bored of it.
And the secret to understanding our way to success is to understand the science of deduction !
It teaches us to break down things. It teaches us that the most complex of life's problems are but framed with small but numerous elements. One should learn to understand the state of your surroundings, including people you meet, state of the road, of a car, of the office floor etc and by understand I mean the cause not the effect. The reason why things are as they are is more important coz once you find the direction of the root of a tree, it takes seconds to uproot it !
A random example : Its very elementary and some may argue it carries a hindsight bias but I am just laying down a basic example here.
A client you meet on a monday morning seems disinterested in the product you are selling ??
ANALYZE !! understand him...deduce his life from his appearance. Penetrate his life to find exactly how to manipulate him and make him buy your 'not so interesting' product !
Seems difficult, try it ! You just have to make a map inside your head of this guy.
He has puffy eyes. Possibilities are many but we'll stick to generic ones. Sleepless night or Party in the previous night. Check his appearance, decent fellow with shirt tucked in, not so fancy car, ironed but old shirt, you are looking at an average working class guy having personal or financial problems for sleepless nights. Case two, he has a fancy car, good new clothing but not completely ironed yet carrying latest fashion trends, he is someone who went for a party the night before. An average working class man will ensure his appearance on monday morning is perfect like any other day but a party guy will just wake up and reach you. Both of them do not seem interested to buy your product YET both are there to listen to you. They ain't fools. You have an OPPORTUNITY !! They are told by someone to be there hence they are obliged to understand the deal even if they are gonna reject it. The party guy is an easy target if you start chatting him up about his date last night and the frustrations monday mornings bring in general ! He may fall for it as that's the thought in his mind. But all this is obvious ! everyone knows it ! what new ? Now you know him, he's someone who went partying previous night knowing he has to meet you next morning. Not very interested in his work. He doesn't want to be perfect in his work but he isn't a lazy ass either as he's present for the work even after a rough night. His task is getting job done and not how its done. This is the man you can earn your margins from !
Understand him, his choice of car, his alertness to surrounding when someone passes by etc
This will tell you exactly what is his level of sincerity to work. This will give you the magic figure PRICE to quote for your product which will convince him and he has in his mind. Raise it if u feel he's eager to go and have coffee after the meeting coz we know by now that a coffee with his date means equally to him as his profits. Win-Win situation for both of you.
The above example was very very elementary. If one start analyzing everyday , everything around him, he can utilize it to his advantage. People get scared when they see you watching through them so never EVER mention what you are deducing, Play with them but don't let them know you're playing. The power of knowledge is in its retention !
